Alright, y'all, I could use some advice. So I've never written something based on another person's fic before; what's the etiquette and protocol for asking permission to adapt their story? Like how do I ask someone out of the blue, and when in the writing process should I ask?

If they have a blanket permission statement on their profile, you're golden. If not, ask before you start putting words on the page, because the answer might well be no.

I'm trying to figure out what Marinette's dream vacation would be. We have canonical daydreams of Adrien's from which I can deduce his, but Marinette's canonical dreams that I can recall (excluding dream career, dream romance, dream kids with dream romantical, and anxiety-driven anything whatsoever) revolve around having enough free time to play video games. Which is pretty much exactly why I'm trying to plot her a vacation!

(Granted, video games can be brought to Adrien's desired destination easily enough, but like.)
