Round 12 Hour 21

This will be my last post for today!  glinda_penguin  will be covering the next few hours -- I don't know what she'll cover them with, but I have complete confidence in her.

I'm off to go do a concert and recording session.  Wish me luck!

I'll be back tomorrow, hopefully actually able to write.  I might be able to check in later this evening.

I've written 300 words in the last hour - but I spent an age on the NHS website looking up info on gangrene - ah, the joys of being a fiction writer!

Well, technically, it's not - it's just a WW1 scene in the original fic I'm writing (Hilditch & Key) - I decided that since I have three WW1 vets in the story, I would show how it affected them and made them the people they are elsewhere in the story (which is set in 1925).

I admire your research! I'd be petrified to take on a historical fic --I'm sure I would have at least one huge anachronism.

Well WW1 is my specialism - I spent more than a decade studying it (which culminated in a combined English and History degree!)...

That's probably the way to go - make it a DW fic, make it a REALLY big anachronism, and wave it about, and claim it's down to aliens. Any minor flaws will be missed.

That's what I like about writing DW -- any and all mistakes can be explained! Get a piece of canon wrong? Time can be rewritten! Get a historical fact wrong? It was a plot by the alien fish! Want the Doctor to have more than 12 regenerations? Just say he has 507!
