I am starting to reread the draft of where the firelight fades subsequent to today's episode; I need to edit in one detail, I think, and then rework how the scene I've been stuck on needs to go, but I'm still going to have the same problem. Which is, everyone is having a lot of emotions, which is keeping them from doing things like eat and sleep, which they need to do in order to (1) process the emotions in a somewhat less destructive manner (2) move the action ahead a few hours because it's one in the morning at the absolute latest and I need to put a couple of people on a train that the earliest that route runs is after seven.
the last departure on that route is just after 9p. and the first scene of the story is at most six hours earlier, about 7p, which is the absolute earliest in the day it can be for other reasons.
