I have it all in Google Docs, I even have most of it with the HTML code still in from commenting on my own post, but what in the fuck even happened, I was fixing one word in that paragraph, I did not highlight anything more than that one word, I sure as fuck didn't tell it to delete anything but that one word

Oh, that sucks! Was that on AO3? Have you tried the unofficial HTML conversion script for Google Docs? I use it with every fic and that way I can just run the script and paste my finished story into AO3 without having to mess around in their posting page longer than necessary. I'm always paranoid working for more than a few minutes in something that doesn't automatically save my work.

DW isn't the problem. HTML vs rich text is the problem. What the fuck did I even hit to delete so much draft is the other problem!

Well, DW formatting can take some effort for sure. And there can be some problems with cuts and username tagging, especially when combined - though I think I've mostly learned to work around those. But I much prefer DW over sites that THINK they know how the formatting should be, without asking me, and they are WRONG. :D Have you ever tried the new LJ posting interface, Wiggins? That's my definition of a fucking pain.

also, re: messing around the AO3 posting page, I proofread my whole 2K Bangelus oneshot in the AO3 preview window :D It worked really well, too, due to the different font

Well, I think I think I'm not going to get any more quality writing done, so I might as well try to get some sleep and hopefully get a decent start tomorrow.

I got about 2200 words in today, which is fewer than I wanted, but certainly not bad for a day's writing.
