It's Hour 43! Conquer those plot tribbles, roast the inner critic, fend off (or welcome) the mutated sentient glowstick-wielding penguins!

Actually I'm going to catch up on a couple of fic chapters that were posted yesterday while listening to Borodin's Serenade in E Major - I reckon if that can't soothe my soul, nothing can!

(And if it doesn't, I'll just have to relisten to some more of Benedict Cumberbatch in Cabin Pressure 'cos thst *always* cheers me up!)

Holy cow. The penguins have left, now I'm being distracted by cheerleaders.

Audio distraction only; they're at the high school football field across the street practicing. Oh my god they are loud. The cultural practices of the North American Youth are weird.

Still revising... with the notes from my critic that I need to put more madness into this section. That shouldn't be difficult.

I never encountered cheerleaders In Real Life until I moved here. It still weirds me out.

Madness on the other hand, madness I can do. MUAHAHAH!!!!!!!

I grew up in Australia, where we are sports mad enough that the girls are almost all on their own teams. I played field hockey. We won our regional title when I was in grade 9. The boy's teams still get way more attention, especially football* and cricket, but it's nothing like the bizarre hero worship of high school boy's football here!

1,348 words on the Eleven fic today...it's coming slowly but surely so far, but hopefully it will all burst into life at some point soon...

Apparently the US Post Office charges money to let people change their mailing addresses online. Here's hoping they don't also charge to do it the old-fashioned way, or I shall be even crankier than I am.

(I've been trying to do various random financial-related stuff, and finding that I have to have a credit card to order checks, and all sorts of junk. Also I have a ridiculous number of accounts with people who want my new address. *eyeroll* Now it is time to eat food. Again. I still have not started my "research"...)

Geez, the last time I needed to change an address, there was no online way in which to do it!

I get to learn all about that again now.

I may actually go so far as to look at some fic. The story I shouldn't really be writing, and not one of the others, naturally. :-)

I find a bit of force useful at times, but, yes, better to start with what you're interested in.

PS. This whole comm is getting seriously weird, it has to be said.

Mind, I read an actual book once that had evil penguins. I was unable to take anything in it at all seriously as soon as I realised there were hordes of evil penguins. It is not a top tip for a novel, so no matter how worrying mutated penguins with glowsticks may become, try to reserve them for crack!fic, or other appropriate places.

(I am full, like the Doctor, of endlessly applicable advice.)

Oh, dear, I don't think so. :-)

They gave me the internet after I did that last time, and it was a bit scary, so, you know...

Between dinner and washing disasters, I've not got much written since the las check in.

I blame the penguins.

It was probably a rogue band of penguins.

I think it was revenge for banishing them earlier.
