I deleted an outline of an individual scene which I had written, after re-reading it to make sure everything had found its way into the narrative. I also deleted the original, shorter outline of that scene, which had already gone through the same process when I expanded it.
I also have older versions of the document saved. This fic has a nastily confusing plot to write. Every random idea I have introduces three new potential plot holes. I'm being overly cautious with it. Don't worry. :)
...I'm getting so used to saving after every chunk of text that I just hit ctrl+s when I was done writing this comment.
I got a tiny bit done on the fourth section of my fic, and feel confident enough about the direction it's headed that I went ahead and posted the second section.
And considering that it's been -- what, six months? -- since the first section was posted, it's about damn time . . . :^)
Good job! The actual releasing it into the wild is good - no more tweaking that one last comma. (I totally edit after I publish because that one last comma will drive me wild. Don't tell.)
After receiving some incredibly helpful hammy advice and meditations on penguins I think it's time for me to call it a night and hope that my writing mojo has shown up in the morning. Or else I will have to hunt it down and beat it with a stick.
Hullo! Horribly busy time here - one daughter having a birthday, another visiting from college, and I have to get ready to be in a dance show tomorrow. Blah. On the other hand, I've got a whole passel of hand-edits on the battered working copy of my WIP that I'm dragging around with me, so there is hope for a teensy bit of progress. I'm just hoping to maybe (maybe, maybe) finish the current chapter.
Reminds me of when I was a kid and my dad threw glowsticks for our dog until her teeth punched holes in them and they leaked... so he went into my room and splattered it around so it looked like stars... it would be really cool to *write* with a glow stick...

I wrote at least 500 words last hour, and deleted the corresponding outlines. My wordcount has increased from 7,055 to...7,189.
