My goal for this hour is to finish my exchange fic so that I can start on the other fics I have to do.

And I don't want to talk about my word count it's just shocking : (

Sounds like a great goal! Also, word count is not always a good measure of progress.

Finish...this....darn....chapter!

Gah. It's getting so long I may actually have to split it into two chapters, in which case I guess my goal is reached because at least one of the two amoebas would then be complete.

LOL, I've done that. "I'm so frustrated. How much longer will it take me to finish this stupid chapter? Hmm, what if I end the chapter right here?"

I had that happen several times on my current work -- a chapter would grow very nicely, then it would eat something chewy and thinky and bulk up like anything and I'd have to 'twin' it. But the nice fat chapters had some great stuff in them, so it worked out okay!
