Good morning (or evening/afternoon/etc.) and apologies for the loss of several hours. This is, however, normal service and we will probably just insert them somewhere inappropriate later.

How has the 'Rush been going in the meantime? Do we have 'rushers, penguins - or even words?

My inbox is mildly less terrifying! I'm halfway through editing this exchange fic, and... mostly I've been babbling on the phone with [personal profile] taichara.

Good morning! I'm just up and eating breakfast (beware the exploding porridge...) but I'm hoping to get a stint of writing words in this morning before I head out into the threatening sunshine to visit the garden centre.

I went down the pointless rabbit hole of trying to research early luxury train travel. There is a surprising lack of good info. I really need to stop caring so much. I could claim whatever and no one could find evidence to the contrary.

Or if they did find evidence then hey finally research done.

My only experience with luxury train travel was the time I got on the wrong train in Amsterdam and had to pay an extra 100 Euro because I was on the ~*~fancy~*~ train and my cards weren't working and it was peak anxiety

Oh no! That is lot of Euros.

I am trying to find like 1920s sleeper car info. If you want to know exactly which engine pulled a train and every route it was on and where it's parts went after decommissioning there are thousands of references obsessively detailing every nut and bolt, but the most basic info on being a passenger in the US? Nope.

Well, at least your description of the train can be intimidatingly precise! haha yeah I hate how little historians use to care about people's everyday lives, makes our job so much harder.
