I'm doing more typing than expected, though sadly not on the story I was wanting to make progress on tonight. On the other hand, I now have a scene-and-a-half written, about 1400 words that sort of blurted out there. Can't decide whether to keep chasing this bouncy-ball or go back to the original story on the slate.
Either way, I'm afraid I'll have to be off to bed before the hour is up so maybe it's a moot point.
I've just typed up nearly 400 words - from chapter 5, alas, not chapter 3! But when the plot bunny gives you a conversation that allows some backstory to be given without major info-dumping, you take it! (Well, I do, anyway!)
Shall try to write a bit more before I disappear for breakfast in about 20 minutes!
Writing is writing. My advice is to work on whichever thing seems to want to be written most at the moment. But I guess you're going to bed anyway, so, goodnight!
Bedtime for me -- I have to be on the road at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow (ack!) and I won't be back until late, so I will see you all on Sunday. Or possibly late Saturday night, which for those of you awake right now and reading this will still probably be Sunday. ; )
Basically the spell went wrong for Sleeping Beauty and she ended up sleeping for something like 250 years until it just wore off. Her however many great nieces and nephews are a little bit confused as to what to do with her and decide to marry her off to a younger prince from another kingdom. Along the way she finds Rapunzel and helps her get out of the tower and then they go off and do something. I'm not sure what yet.
Thanks. It's not much, but for the hour of the morning, the fact that I've not had breakfast yet, and the fact I feel really braindead from the heat, I'm just glad to have written anything!
I'm hoping to get much more written tomorrow once my weekly chores are done. Saturdays are always a bit of a piecemeal day with work in the afternoon and Who in the evening...
You're completely right as well, as usual my Muse has her own ideas as to what she's willing to contribute to at any given time. You can lead a horse to water...
I am having a confab with the muse about the dangers of being distracted by the "Daniel comes back from the dead" episodes of SG-1 (Naked!Daniel, yum....)
I'm probably going to be heading to bed soon as well.

That's the plan at any rate.
