Round 57, Hour 30
Oct. 19th, 2014 07:58 amHello Fic Rush,
I'm back to tuck you into bed - and keep the fic rush afloat during these precarious hours!
I have a mellow acoustic playlist playing in the background, hope you have peaceful dreams while I'll write - who knew that simply planning a story would require so much writing (and overall hard work)?
I'm a Pantser you see, so the curious habits of the Planners are new to me! It is time to embark on an adventure to learn from others, the more organized, strategic writers.
While I do that, you can tell me what you're up to, or possibly, have you misplaced your bed? (Terrible when that happens!)

Sadly the point of view character would never form the idea "adorable" so they'll just be regular tiny anarchists when I'm done revising.

Date: 2014-10-19 05:11 am (UTC)I don't know your POV character, but there's a first time in everything - as in they could caught themselves thinking 'adorable' and then be shocked by such sentiment?

Date: 2014-10-19 05:24 am (UTC)I have tended to be more Planny than Pantsy, myself, but that's partly the result of the fandoms involved. There's always a point at which the Plans get flung to the winds and Pants have to take over.

Date: 2014-10-19 05:33 am (UTC)So, I think I babbled about my only advice being to make sure your story is backed up, since this hard lesson has been taught to me twice now. First time it was the pirate encrypters who locked up my story files, and then Open Office had a bug that neatly lost only the last chapter I had just written out of my file. I think it must have been because I had highlighted that chapter to see the word count. When I went to bed it was there, when I got up in the morning it was gone. Six thousand precious baby words, all gone. Any way, I was an idiot and again my backup wasn't working, too full.
So, yeah, don't be like me. I'm going to bed now, I wrote 800 words, and I'm emailing my story to myself for additional protection.

Date: 2014-10-19 05:38 am (UTC)I don't know if I'll follow my plans, when my Pantser-self takes over - stories are organic, you never know which way they might grow!

Date: 2014-10-19 05:40 am (UTC)I've done the emailing stories to myself, I have a whole mystery file in my email account filled with story clips - the problem is that I don't remember what story they go with! :D
Excellent work with the words, and sleep well!
