I haven't been writing lately, but I have been reading some wonderful detective stories. My friend Halavana and I meet every Friday for dinner, and we often discuss the works of the Inklingers, the most famous being, of course, JRR Tolkien, CS Lewis, and Dorothy Sayers.

I often think of our Fic_Rushes as a kind of Inklinger's club. Wouldn't it be grand to huddle up in the private room of a pub or restaurant and talk writing with each other over appetizers and drinks?

Nope. I see the corners filled with little groups of introverts, blinking from the unfamiliar light but grinning happily as they listen to your riveting tales and buying you drinks to keep you talking!

And myself standing nearby with a trout, ready to fish-slap anyone who starts being to self-deprecatory.
