Trying to sniff out queer history from sources before the 1960s is both frustrating and fascinating.

I'm starting to realize how much more complex this WIP is going to get. I've got another POV to work in, themes of desire and betrayal to explore...and I really don't know how it ends. That should become more clear when everything else has been written. But I think I've settled on the timeline, so that's progress. Plus jotted down a bunch of notes which will be helpful later on. I'm not tackling it now!

I'm compiling an LGBT*/queer history of my university for our brand-new LGBT* Center, so I'm going through the university archives trying to find anything that happened on campus before 1967 regarding these issues.

Hmmm. Your best bet, honestly, is to find someone from the area who might remember. It's really tough finding anything of the sort in campus archives, since most campuses weren't very willing to hold onto that kind of information at that time! Best of luck!!

Thanks! That's the plan for next semester; I'm gonna be collecting oral histories from people involved here at different points in time to fill the gaps in the historical record.
