I am finally back and over my panic attack. :) Had nice chats with my f'list about my bigbang to get me back on track. I know what I need to concentrate on now. Whew! *goes back to writing*
And yes -- did you ever read "Ecotopia"? I use it as my "location" online when I don't feel like being specific. Or serious. In other words, most of the time.
Written by Ernest Callenbach in 1975. It's not a particularly marvelous piece of fine literature, but it's interesting in historical terms.
Callenbach invented the term "Ecotopia" for the novel: he has the Pacific Northwest secede from the US to form an independent country based on environmentally idealistic tenets. (Yeah, talk about wish-fulfillment!) It's set in 1999, but really tells you more about the world in 1975.
