I'm back again - and I even got a little bit scribbled out while I was out and about, assuming I can read what I wrote in the dark. I'm hoping to snag an hour or so here before bedtime catches up. :-)
*headdesk* Income taxes Not Fun. Other people's income taxes even less fun when they're being penalized for stupidity. Why can't guys follow simple directions?
'Scuse me. Having trouble getting my brain back into Fun Mode.
Hi again. So is your in-the-dark handwriting all overlapping? That's always the hard part for me. In my extensive writing-in-the-dark experience, which I have.
Well, it doesn't overlap much, but it sure wends around a bit and tends to be that style of cursive known formally as Quick Sloppy (from the Ancient Germanic: Jot) Also has too many poorly drawn arrows going from spot to spot as I tried to write long things in little corners and had to jump to another part of the page to finish sentences.
Of course, no one else ever has that happen, nope...
In this case, it's a very good friend of mine, who made some very stupid financial moves after losing his job, including (1) not calling me right away and (2) not following instructions when he did call. The company that fired him pulled a couple of unethical moves, but he's now compounded them expensively. Since he's a friend (and unemployed), I'd have preferred that he not have to pay quite so heavily. On the other hand, he's now following instructions.
Reading crack is a lovely thought. Or I may go watch an episode of my Source Material -- that will help clear the IRS out of my brain. Ha.
Writing in the dark with arrows? Now that is brave. I would be afraid of writing my corner notes on top of each other and then crossing everything else out with the arrows.
Of course, it's important to enjoy your research. So that you can stay properly motivated. To keep researching. Otherwise you might quit and just try to write without it! And that would be sad.

(Linguistics geek being really geeky and off-topic here... but "jot" is actually from the Greek "iota". And I totally need a geek icon.)
