State of the Fandom Address:

The Plants have been watered, and are much more agreeable now that the sun is up.  I have showered AND deep conditioned my hair: productive!Xavia is productive!  Breakfast has been achieved by many and Sundry, and Crowley is crooning somewhere in the corner.  Due to the tireless efforts of koala and lemur activists alike, vanilla and eucalyptus are now legal throughout all the Land.  Oh, and some of us have opened our WIP ('werebunnies in progress' in Xavian) folders.

What news have ye?

Because I am a champion procrastinator, I just watched a video of an Australian scientists demonstrating how to make a crocodile attack.

I have finished 1 scene, at 257 words (it was a short scene admittedly) since I started this morning. Only 1.5-2.5 more scenes to go and then I need to do one last read through before posting tomorrow (I love deadlines, I like to get up real close to them and stroke them before they pass).

I have read fic_rush, eaten breakfast, posted a couple of posts I should have made two days ago, let the dog out, and now I am ready to set to work again.

Last night, among other things, I did some starter work on reorganizing and weeding out my WIP folder; I may or may not finish that today. :D

GO GO GO YOU CAN DO IT! I have a BB draft due Monday and my writer's block is in full force, so I'm just going through and making all the changes my beta suggested. Also, I heard you say it was 50K? I bow to you.

Good luck weeding! I find it's so easy to get distracted doing that, but maybe it's just because I-- SQUIRREL!

Also yeah, reading all the past posts takes up a surprising amount of the hour.

HELL YEAH I CAN....AND IF I CAN'T, I STILL HAVE TO BECAUSE I'M POSTING TOMORROW!

I spent about a third of the writing time for this one with writer's block, then another third with RL in the way. Luckily for me I can sit down and write 15k in a week if I can get in the zone.

Yeah, the first draft was about 55k but I've deleted some stuff that was not needed so it's probably late 40s now. I'll do a total now...oh, it's actually gone back up to just over 52k and I still have at least one more scene to do so knowing irony as I do, it'll probably be back up to 55k by the time I'm done :P

...it's funny because the goal I'm working towards for mine IS 15K... :P

and yeah, fic is weird like that. every time I think I've cut out the extraneous stuff more just creeps its way in, and then I'm like, ehh... why not?

Yeah, I'm terrible for that. Especially with exposition. It just keeps on coming and I'm loathe to stop it. And that's why it was 55k in the first place...
