Date: 2013-02-09 12:30 am (UTC)Fortunately, I have a handful of almost finished stories that I can work on. Almost finished for YEARS. If I get just one of them done this weekend I'll be happy. Two would be ecstasy! *scribbles all over the blank screen*

Date: 2013-02-09 12:38 am (UTC)Add that to having fic rush on, a surprise deadline couldn't have come at a better time (well, I suppose not at all would have been better but there you go).
Thank you, to you as well! Out of curiosity, what bangs did you sign up for?

Date: 2013-02-09 12:52 am (UTC)I took an unexpected nap,(five hours!) and I'm still kind of muzzy headed. I want to finish a smallfandombang story (it's at 29,514) on The Incredible Hulk, and then do some final editing on a long 57,000 word story, also for
I'll have to do some household chores, too. I noticed that the firewood fairy did not bring in any wood for our wood stove while I slept, so I'll have to jump on that, and I have to take down the Christmas decorations this weekend. This is a new record on procrastination on that for me.

Date: 2013-02-09 12:54 am (UTC)I have two projects to work on. One is an antique WIP, and the other is a Top Sekrit project due next month. Tonight might not be the night, though...
But I might refresh my thoughts on the WIP or brainstorm a bit about the other project. I'll be occasionally lurking at any rate. :-)

Yes, Bill Bixby's Incredible Hulk. You can watch them on Hulu and on Netflix, since Hulu doesn't have the last two seasons. Netflix used to have season five but now they don't, and I don't know why. It's out on DVD, too.
Bill is so great. I've been watching the episodes quite a lot, for research, for research, I cry. Bill was so consistant with how he portrayed David Banner. Loving and brilliant, haunted by his wife's death, and with enough of a blind spot that we could see his obsessive side as he tried to understand how people could call on great strength at times.
He'd be quiet and watchful when he was in situations he wasn't sure about, get frustrated and mad about dumb stuff regarding machinery (he lost it once in a phone booth when he couldn't get the phone to work right), but was amazingly patient with people. When he trusted someone he'd relax and be silly sometimes, with bad imitation accents of John Wayne and such. David was a modest man, and it showed in how he dressed, so when he would end up in only badly ripped pants, just hanging in strips or one time, in just a pair of boxers, the discomfort he felt was so clear on his face. I heard that Bill Bixby didn't like having to do the scenes where he was without a shirt, and he sure channeled that feeling into his acting. He did dazed really well, and the looks on his face when he'd come back to himself, especially if someone was there and had seen him transform, just wow. So poignant. He'd look ashamed and humilated and sad and worried and if it was someone who didn't know about his transformations, he'd be so wary.
I loves me a good guy fugitive story, and I grew really fond of Jack McGee, too. Jack kept chasing David but he came to like him but he still thought capturing the Hulk was the right thing to do.
Lou did a great job with letting us see the kind and gentle man David really was, even when he was big and green. The Hulk had lines he didn't cross when it came to how much intimidating or shoving people out of his way. He cried, too.
Yeah, I couldn't not write this story.
