I am not exactly sure who is around right now. I know at least one person who is here and writing, and at least one more who is here and struggling. Who is up to what right now?
I have a brilliant plan to research my fic by watching a bunch of Doctor Who. And by "research my fic", I mean "procrastinate".
The tricky thing is that the Martha/Master prompt includes "bonus points if it takes place before Martha walks the Earth." And I heart my bonus points.
I'm writing post-coitus angst! I'll be around for a few more hours (American East Coastie here), anyway. I'm sorry it looks like a slow start - I don't know how these things usually go. I do have another friend on the west coast who pointed me here, and she's apparently going to pop in later.
Cools. So is angst easier to write than porn, then?
It's not really that it's a slow start. I just saw one or two people pop in during the first hour that haven't said anything since, and I was wondering if they're here right now. Some people reply to the first hour and then come back the next day.
HA! Everything is easier to write than porn. It's not that porn makes me uncomfortable, it's that I have to get it "right" and it's beyond painstaking.
I just got pointed here, so I guess I'll be joining in the middle and wandering around and bumping into things.
I'm in mid-novel, and I've been sweating for three weeks on a bruisingly stubborn chapter. I had mentally set aside this weekend to focus on it, instead of all that other boring stuff (laundry, dishes, etc.) that takes up so much valuable writing time. I just read your FAQ and rules, and if you don't mind my hitching a lift on your bandwagon, that would be cool.
Welcome to fic rush! Don't worry, stumbling into the middle of a round is encouraged. Timezones and all that. I hope you manage to beat that chapter into submission this weekend.
Thank you! I'm in the Pacific time zone, so my evening is still fairly young.
Oh, I forgot to introduce my fic. I write MacGyver fanfic; the current story is titled "Reverb". At the moment, I'm trying to wrap up a meanwhile-back-at-the-ranch scene (too much talking, not enough activity, argh) so I can get back out into the Peruvian jungle and settle down for some serious whumpage. And maybe blow something up.
Yes to all of it: the Guy from Stargate (Richard Dean Anderson), the Sillier Hair. If the style looks familiar, it's because I made most of the icons that curuchamion uses. If you drop in on my LJ you'll find a lot more in the same vein -- it's an image gallery of LOLCats-style captioned images of RDA. (Do feel free to drop in.)
And a definite yes to the action novel! Although I have plans to sneak in a little sex at some point. ;-)
Good luck with the smut, BTW. I find it excruciatingly hard to write it myself -- which is one of the reasons I sometimes do, since how else am I going to learn?
By all means, pay no attention to the link at the top of the home page that jumps all the way back to the beginning of the image gallery. There are over 600 entries.
This is a side-community for fic_rush, where we post our hourly posts during rounds. If you've wandered in here by accident, you'll want to go there instead.
If you're with fic_rush and have just shown up, look for most recent hourly post.
