A cool, crisp faux-winter morning; skies of blue, cats of grey, coffee of bean. I have my ducks in a row... however, the cats are eyeing them.

Progress report! Sound off, people!

Still on the second round of polishing up my rough draft of Chapter Five. (14,457 words)

I'll probably have to stop after that and do some chores for a while.

Must make a pot of coffee soon.

Laurie

572 words in the past hour or so, although not on the story I was actually planning to work on. Which happens to me a lot, really.

I have, so far, had espresso, done laundry, and started a much-needed clean-up of the random stuff in my den. Also, I have started plotting a Daring Escape from the prison in which I am not languishing and you shouldn't pay attention to the rumours.

I think I'll do something with screencaps next.

I'm fully clothed. I have Scrivener started. Coffee has been consumed.

I'm back, after a slightly more unexpected morning - I forgot that my friend had said she might be able to help me with rl things today, like constructing the bed and bookshelf for the spare room (the sorts of things I am still not really up to). And she phoned! And things were constructed! We did not let the puzzling instructions fool us. (Even when they told us we needed a screwdriver for the bed and we didn't.)

The new bookshelf has been a big distraction & I wait rather worriedly to see whether I shall now dive back into overtiredness. In the meantime, I found some Kendal Mint Cake and am considering that words might be possible in the next half hour.

Yay for everyone managing wordage - that's great. :-)

Yay! (I choose to believe you unexpectedly found yourself writing some singing Sontarans, yes?)

Well done! You can think better in uncluttered space, my friend used to tell me. :-)

Also, I can see that you are absolutely not locked up and am absolutely not passing you a ball of string and a paperclip. (I know, but someone borrowed my sonic screwdriver and Vila won't come back to fic_rush after his experience with Pitry last time.) But in stories, that's all you need. I might even not pass you a newspaper as well.

Ooo! Paper clip! STRING! *plays with string*

A newspaper would be a distraction, but do you happen to have a flashlight and a set of Scrabble tiles?

Better than not being told you needed a screwdriver when you actually did!

You slide the newspaper under the door to catch the key in lock when it fall out once you poke it with the paperclip & then slide it back under the door to you. It works in books all the time.

I have a flashlight, but I'm afraid my friend owned the Scrabble set and she moved out last month. :-)

It only works if they actually leave the key in the lock. But at least the newspaper gives you something to read!

Unfortunately not - it was me quickly writing down an idea I'd had come to me before I forgot it. Canton Everett Delaware III (who you might not have seen yet) and where he was when JFK got shot. Not "on the grassy knoll", I hasten to add.

But having said that... As the next bit of Gerald and Harriet continues to play hard to get... Hmm. Watch this space.

Words are a bit like cats, I think - the herding bit is a tad tricky... ;)

I did have the next bit on my hard drive, about three-quarters finished, but I didn't really like it. Anyway, after a bit of tweaking/finishing:

Enjoy! (when you are able) I doubt I'd have done it without your encouragement. :)

Wow, and I was only joking!

That's v cool. With it being one more chapter, I shall see what I can do - but not today; I've been unbelieavbly tired today.

But well done! Yay!

I do hope you have enough Litefoot and Jago in it? You have this terrible misconception that it's a story about Four and Romana (or two stories) where clearly it is about one of only 2 fanfics ever with LItefoot and Jago. ;-D

Ah, no, it's been one I've been meaning to bash into shape and post for a good while now (like...since whenever the last part was - can it really be years rather than months??), but I don't know, something clicked this time and I was finally happy with it. Hope you will be too whenever you get the chance.

Yeah... I don't think they're in this part much, but there's going to be an intermission and a curtain call as well as however many acts it ends up being, so if and when any of that gets written I'm sure they'll get their moment in the limelight, as it were. :)
