Round 20, Hour 23

It's Hour 23! Which is . . . a fairly ordinary hour, actually. It's not one of the early hours, when the round is fresh and new. It's not one of the later hours, when the round is exciting and heading towards the grand finale. It's not the halfway point. It's just kind of sitting there.

Let's give Hour 23 some love! Go ninja lemurs!

Huzzah for the ninja lemurs! I have had irregular Internet, lots of music, some Terry Pratchett, pizza, and... no writing as yet. I know what the shape of the story is, I'm just having a heck of a time keeping both mindsets anywhere near clear enough at once to verbalize. It's worse than writing Odo vs Garak.

I had a long nap. Now I think I have to help with dinner. After which, hopefully back on track for revising. I did get some thinking done while drifting into nap land.

Instead of counting up the numbers, would it help to think of the progress in story terms? Just think of all the things you've made better in the fic! As for the rest of it, you'll get there.

That's true (things made better). Still, thinking in this mode is extra slow. This story is the closest to a final draft I've got on the recent projects, and it's on a deadline, too. I really want to finish it this weekend, but instead I think I'll just finish this run through with editing, and let it sit a week before I do the final, final, revision.
