I got a couple sentences and then I got distracted by trying to figure out whether one character canonically uses 'tu' or 'vous' for another. Woe is me, though, for it appears that no one has transcribed any of the French dub of the episodes in which she appears, and my audio processing is not up to deciphering the dub without a cheat sheet.
oh gods yeah that's what I hate about writing in French, especially like historical fics, do I look like I know the proper social conditions for whether to tutoyer or vouvoyer in the 19th century when all the characters are different social classes??
I also don't think that particular distinction exists in this character's native language? (Japanese. plenty of other linguistic variations based on exactly what sort of politeness is involved, but not, I believe, the T-V distinction.) and yeah, I'm writing in English, but I've already highlighted that a different character is using 'vous' for someone she's always previously chosen to be rude to by using 'tu', so like
