Yarrrr mateys! Hour eighteen be the hour of the pirate, ye landlubbers. And it's all [livejournal.com profile] jjpor 's fault, ye can't be keepin' a good pirate off stage, ye scurvy seadog! So raise th' skull an' crossbones an' hit the high seas of writin'. Or editin', or yarrrr, revisin' if ye be so inclined and the rum holds out!

And if ye be inclined t' procrraaastinatin', here be pirate jokes.

Hour nineteen should be back ta normal because I'm off like a misfired cannon, mateys!

P.S. Pirates vs. Penguins - who wins? Which side do the alien fish ally with? These are the questions of our age.

Good grief! What's JJ been up to now? ;-D May we have permission to blame him for any forthcoming piratical incursions?

Not writing, editing or anything else for the moment - got home from work half an hour ago and am feeling so brain dead I'm sure I must be a zombie, really...

Those would be the ones that bob along in the waves so only their hats show?

Beware of spiraling conflation! We could end up with piratical penguins at this rate.

That sounds like a good plan; relax, recharge and recuperate... :)

(I am now going to have that song from Pirates of Penzance running through my head... you know, the one about the brook and the poplars and the breeze. You've seen that version of "Pirates", right?)

Okay, so that's 888 words since my last update, 3,329 words so far today. So, food now, and then I'll see what happens in the evening session, so to speak. :)

The pirates have sailed on out of the story for the time being, btw - currently, various characters are sitting on a beach eating seaweed...

Here I am again! Trying to decide which of my many stalled stories to work on, or whether I should start something new. o_O

Okay, so now I'm going to be singing the Dangermouse song for the rest of the day... ;D

The characters would probably appreciate some rice crackers...or anything other than seaweed, really. ;D

I have that version of Pirates memorized - I think I've probably seen it more than any other movie over the years, especially if I count the obsessive re-watching of my high-school years. And yes, those were EXACTLY the pirates I had in mind, hah!

And now I have to interrupt my life to go look up the Dangermouse song.

I'd go with working on a stalled one - otherwise you'll end up having to build another addition onto your bunny-hutch. ;-)

I've done Pirates twice, and even though the last time was years decades ago, I can probably still sing the entire score from memory.

The Major-General's pastoral ballad ("Sighing Softly to the River") is in the original score; the only song in the movie that's not actually from Pirates was the patter-song trio from Ruddigore.

On a visit home, while my father was still alivem, I once wandered downstairs, found him reading in the living room, and started singing one of the Daughters' songs to him!

What, you mean G&S didn't write in bubbling hats... or the Pirate King stabbing himself in the foot.... or *gasp* a swordfight in the middle of a bad performance of Pinafore? I'm so disillusioned!

Crab sounds like an excellent idea, as do assorted shellfish etc - they can go in the story... :D
