Round 13, Hour 17

Word counts are growing, plots are progressing, the hour is beginning to look like something more decent for a self-respecting writer to be up on this side of the planet. We have a soaking wet hero. (No really, go read this comment fic like now.) What other mischief have we afoot?

I'm running away from the soaking wet hero. But not very fast. After all, I haven't had breakfast yet. Um, that didn't quite come out right.

I have apparently begun one of the those sideways spirals into insanity, or possibly through a new section of it.

I'm up to 2,250 and am about halfway through scene 3 but I've got family coming so it will probably be 2-3 hours before I can write again.

Had to go out this afternoon, but back now and back in the ficrush saddle - another 340 words since last update, which makes 2441 words since this morning. All about a rather scary sea journey - scary because the character concerned has never even been in a boat before let alone gone on an ocean voyage, rather than due to any particular hazards (although there be pirates out there...somewhere...)

Pirates have a certain je ne sais quoi, true, but these ones are barely onscreen. Like cameo pirates, or something. And glad to be back too! ;D

I'm up and typing, I'm so proud of myself, lol... Muse was pretty shut down last night but two drabbles this morning make me slightly more hopeful. *stocks up on towels against any soaking wet heroes blundering through*

Lack of experience can be terrifying even in innocent situations - and the Sea! Ack!

I remember screaming as a child when tiny fish fry nibbled at my toes in the shallows. *flings buckets of sea water in slo-mo for dramatic effect*
