OMG, we're in the home stretch!

When the round ends, I'll post a 'brag post' in the[livejournal.com profile] fic_rush  comm, so everyone who has participated at any point in the weekend can declare their final victory, and be cheered and applauded.  Vuvuzelas optional.

Also, please send me links to anything you finish and post, and I'll add them to the [livejournal.com profile] fic_rush  gallery.  It doesn't matter if you finish it after the 'rush weekend is over, as long as you worked on it during the 'rush.  (There will be another reminder of all this at the end.)

So, who's with us, how're you doing, and have the singing Sontarans encountered the sheep in the boat?

I just got notified that I received an A in English class for that Vietnam Wall double-drabble you may have seen me posting about at some point. Apparently the professor really liked it. :D

*Brain boggles so hard it asplodes*

Oh bugger, that's me done for!

:D

I got 564 words written after re-reading and editing...

This was yesterday's completed fic:

I don't know if that's too much or too little detail, so let me know if you need more or less info.

Good morning! I am here. I am awake. Let's see what I can accomplish in the last few hours of fic_rush!

First, though, I'd better go get some caffeine.

Trying to knock off the end of this one-shot. I can do that in four hours.

Um.

If I write in my text editor, not in lj comment boxes.

No, no. Human contact is good. Human contact keeps writer sane. Writer sane now. Writer not break any more characters' arms. Yet.

You know, I think this is the first 'rush where we've gotten through both nights with not one single hour of crickets chirping... MILESTONE! *hi-fives everyone*

(I totally typed "minestrone" there. LOL!)

Well, my technical hiccup is fixed, and I've had food, and managed 147 further words before that & since last reporting, so hopefully I'll get this extra scene done before I stop for the night. And then delete it, probably. (And if [livejournal.com profile] jjpor is around, it does not involve Sgt Kennedy getting killed/promoted/going on a murderous rampage/falling in love with a teapot, or in fact being in said scene in any way shape or form. Are we clear on this? I expect you'll advise me not to bother with it now.) I'm not willing to comment on whether it has any musical or fish-related aliens, however. Or carrots, wolves, donkeys or lettuce.

:-D

Good luck, everyone!

Yes, I think we have finally hit critical mass of people and critical distribution of time zones! *high-fives back*

No, and I came to a decision. It doesn't have the extra scene, and it's going to get posted NOW.

I'm a little sad about the extra scene, but maybe in the grand tradition of this ridiculous, neverending, self-indulgent UNIT series, I will offer it up as 'DVD extra'. (Oh, Darn. I just thought of a way it might work, after all. No, no. I'm POSTING THE FINAL CHAPTER. GO AWAY.)

:-D

Maybe I'll get a ficlet done as well, too, now?

Probably no poisoned confetti, or exploding chairs, though.

... And before too long we'll be complaining about the crowds swamping the place, and how it used to be fun when there was just one person around all night...

No, I thought that - it's usually the UK day it's deadly in, and I've really enjoyed having people to natter with, even if I haven't done an awful lot of writing of my own today, or yesterday.

Yes, well in that case is it really a proper use of your valuable time? XD

I actually, would you believe, broke a bad guy's arm yesterday. Today I sprained Mac's knee, though, to make up for it.

And now we're (Burn Notice crew) smashing up an office and spray painting "Die yuppie scum" and "Eat the Rich" on things as a diversionary tactic.

My favourite kind of tactic, that one.

I am now slightly scared by the idea of my UNIT regulars having deleted smutty scenes. 8-o Mind you, nobody could get very far with Sergeant Kennedy walking in on them all at the wrong moments...

Yes... I know! I have fic commentaries (sometimes by the characters), missing scenes, AU endings... It's beyond a joke. The only lesson I can draw from it is when you are looking for something extra for a fic that needs a bit of work, never, ever randomly produce a Victorian housemaid who's been accidentally brought forward in time by Torchwood. An endlessly valuable piece of advice, I feel. :-)

Next time, I shall stick to poisoned confetti and exploding chairs like a good fanficcer and not introduce complicated OCs.
