Round 85, Hour 41

 Still nothing creative at my end, although I did look at today's projects, so yay?  Also, there is a toddler grackle in our yard (older than a baby, but not much), and we are being vastly entertained by watching it get regularly fueled by a much-harrassed daddy grackle.

Just had to look up what a grackle is - not a bird we have in my neck of the woods. ;)

Well, that's 2,102 words in four hours, so I'm calling that a chapter. I'm taking a break for food etc and then I'll be reading through/editing it. Thanks to all you rushers for your encouragement! :)

I had to google grackle to see what it was and boy, do they all look like harrassed daddy grackles that are attemtping to wrangle their grackle kids.

I made 967 (so close!) before I had to eat and I'm going to shoot for 1.5k before the next hour post.

Good morning! I am currently re-reading one of my old fics, and starting to get into a fic-writing mood. Will I ever get beyond re-reading? Oooh, the suspense!

A grackle is a bird we have in great numbers down here in south Florida. They look a little like crows, but have big shovel tails (the local breed is the boat-tailed grackles). They are very noisy, especially when hungry.

Re-reading older fic can be so much fun; especially when my writing mood is low it often reminds me why I did love writing - and still do.

I had to google 'grackle'; it's interesting to watch birds, isn't it?

I still have an open writing challenge (which would count for two communities ;) ): write about 60 minutes without much distraction.

It's still early enough around here to give it a try. I guess I will grab a coffee and put a timer on. Will be back in one hour to tell you if it did work.
