Oof! Those little flightless blighters put up a tough fight, but I believe we've seen the last of them.



While I've been quelling the penguin usurpation, what have you been up to? Transcription? Making new words where no words were before? Rearranging words into a more pleasing fashion? Stealing priceless Romanov treasures?

I'm at eighteen minutes into my transcription. That's about four and a half minutes since last hour. I feel like I'm going very slowly, but I guess transcription is hard work... :S

It definitely is! I know people who do it professionally and use expensive voice to text software to get most of it down before editing it manually. It's real, hard, detailed work!

Yeah, there's no fancy software here -- there's a streaming mp3, a .txt file, and me. So I guess I'm doing okay. I always tend to expect myself to work faster and better than humanly possible... ;P

I'm starting to figure that out. ;-) At least it's a totally unofficial volunteer fanthing, so if/when I run out of steam there's no harm done. But, y'know, I decided it needed doing, so... *jazz hands*

I've continued in the madness of writing odd little chunks of (what could be) multiple Yuletide treats that's been going on all November.

At least now I know to blame the penguins.

I have finished reading the world's most boring document about tax planning for families (and ex-families, since it contained a section on divorce). I liked it better when I was boozing it up with the dragon. (Although I did learn some useful bits about alimony and pre-nups, not that I hope ever to need to use them.)

The dragon fell asleep and I think I shall do the same. Perhaps tomorrow we can steal some priceless Romanov treasures.
