Round 47, Hour 21

The topic of this hour is crossovers.

Did you know that MacGyver has an episode with the Doctor? Seriously. There's aliens and a completely mysterious English gentleman who appears out of nowhere and speaks nonsense. Does this count as fanfiction? Can an official episode of a TV show be fanfiction for another TV show? Is this post becoming too meta?

... Do you think I could write a Doctor Who/ MacGyver/ TDKR crossover?

Speaking of crossovers, the fic I'm writing is one. I should probably get back to the whole writing aspect of that.

Unfortunately, the writing at the top of my priority list is thank-you letters to the people who gave me scholarship money... Which is very fortunate (:D), just... I don't really know how to write these things. :|

Oooh! Huzzah \0/. Hm. Although this does raise interesting questions. I think I'll leave that interesting question to the next post. Let's see if this cold December morning can start up a discussion on fic_rush. That's a form of writing too! :D

What is this episode called? I've never watched an episode of McGuiver in my life, but this makes me want to.

(I've heard that one of the Star Trek TV series has a mysterious un-named Englishman who show up at one point with a sonic screwdriver, but I've never seen it, nor do I know the episode name, or even which Star Trek this supposedly happens in...)

The Visitor, season 6 :D (It's not a good MacGyver episode, though, I must stress. It's definitely not one I'd recommend to someone who's never watched MacGyver before as a way to get them to watch MacGyver! ...Although, to be completely honest, if you haven't been exposed to MacGyver until now you're unlikely to become a fan anyway. I think it's more of a nostalgia thing.)

ST - hmmm... that sounds just bizarre enough for the original, but I don't know myself :(
