I'm writing! Not fiction - mostly not even my speech (though I do have a topic and some research materials) - but I am writing. Thinky thoughts, mostly, to sort them out of my head. :-)

That seems to be a productive thing to do to clear the decks! Better than keeping the thinky thoughts in.
