Round 10 Hour 29

If you're just joining in, we have finished chapters, finished fic, Shower Muses, exploding chairs and vuvuzelas! If you're looking for possible alien fish, that's next door.

I think the possible alien fish should be included in the prompts for our Ultimate Doctor Who/MacGyver crossover. Along with exploding chairs and one carrot, two donkeys.

I did no writing this hour, I did some readiang instead. I'm going to start writing now : )

I think I'm going to bed now. At least I have a slightly better idea of what wants rewriting, although I'm still not entirely sure what to do about the alien dogs' warp drive... I hate having to fix warp drives. I'm a plumber/carpenter, not an electrician!

(Plus, I've never taken physics, so I'm pretty much stuck with secondhand designs - which I hate massively. I mean, what does a dilithium reactor do, blow the explosion out the back end of the warp nacelles like a jet engine? o_O)

I think I need an alien fish. Or at least a caffeinated soda. I broke someone's arm. In a story. That seems like progress.

Is it appropriate to dip alien fish into caffeinated soda, or is this covered by the earlier 'no cheese or herring in the coffee' clause?

This is a Doctor Who story, actually, but I'm a Stargate girl at heart. I like my sciencey explanations to make actual sense on some level. (I'm the person who got all excited at a news story with a headline about transporters, not because the news within was really the first step to transporters - it had nothing to do with them - but because it is the principle behind subspace radio. Totally awesome!)

Uh... yeah. I think you can probably see why I get frustrated with the current state of warp technology. *g*

Why would you dip alien fish in herring?

[identity profile] curuchamion.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
*headslap* Maybe my brain works better when I'm tired. Not only could I perfectly well break the impulse engine instead - and those are a lot easier to fix - that would make a lot more sense, because [secondary plot point I can't explain right now] is happening on takeoff. You don't engage warp on takeoff, that would be stupid! You're still too deep in the gravity well, for one thing.

Aww, thank you. :-)

Giving up on writing due to too many interruptions, I dealt with phone calls, took a shower and popped popcorn. One more try now, before it starts to get too late here! I've hit a plotpoint snag, so if it keeps being a bear I'll just skip on to the next one I can manage. Still - it would be *awfully* nice to finish one blinkin' chapter here...

Those neutrons are so darn handy!

I have the advantage of having a teen son who will eat the ones that fall on the floor, so none are wasted. At least I *think* that's an advantage, but I'm not really sure.

:-P

Or the boat with the sheep in it.
