I can remember the plots of several books I'm reading at the same time, but I have no idea why I started up the stairs the other day carrying a single shoe in one hand, and I can almost never remember what day it is.

I can remember plots from films and various tv shows but I'll often forget why I've got in to the kitchen for or what else I need when I buy new milk and bread each week.

Getting older is an adventure, Isn't it? The times I've gone downstairs without the thing I wanted to take downstairs. Brains. Mine is too full of fanfic ideas to have room for other thoughts.

It sure is an adventure. I've left my tea in the kitchen a few times and just remembered by the time it's barely drinkable. My brain is wonky with being dyslexic but there's some really good fic ideas in there and some odd ideas that will never see daylight.

My nephew is dyslexic too, but he's never let that stop him. He's a mechanic that goes out to rescue big trucks that break down.

I'll spend several minutes digging through my pockets, trying to find something I'm already holding in my hand. Certainly makes life interesting.

I don't let it stop me. I worked in social care for 25 years, quitting the sector for good last summer and now working part time in a pub and I'm restarting a business offering social support for dyslexic adults in my home town.

I end up doing that in a shop, I'll be getting my card or some cash out of my wallet only to see that it's already in my hand. Sure does make life interesting.

Go you! That's awesome! There should be more help available for dyslexic adults.

But we manage, even if our brains have a bad habit of slipping out of gear.

Thanks. Absolutely and that's why I started it way back before the pandemic then I had to put it on hold for a while.

We do manage even the brains aren't cooperating.

I'm glad I'm getting it going again. First time around I had people turning up every week and this time is a little slower but people are starting to turn up.
